A Cozy Baby Announcement in Downtown Kansas City

Some moments just feel extra special, and this baby announcement session was one of them. Capturing the excitement of growing a family is always a dream, but doing it in the coziness of home made it even sweeter! Some background on this shoot: Halle’s mom and my mom have been best friends since 7th grade, raised Halle and I as practically family, and now her new addition is the start of the 3rd generation. Ah! I can’t believe she is a mom, and I had the best time documenting this special time in her (and, selfishly, my… hello auntie era!) life.

A Laid-Back, Heartfelt Pregnancy Announcement

We started this session right at home, where everything felt natural and relaxed. There’s something so meaningful about documenting these moments in a space that already holds so much love. We made cinnamon rolls to symbolize the bun in the oven and I know Charles is going to be a better dad than he is a baker ;-). We shot digital photos as well as Super 8 videography for the pregnancy announcement and had a blast.

Strolling Through the Kansas City River Market

After capturing those cozy in-home moments, we took the excitement outside and wandered around the River Market in downtown Kansas City. The energy of the farmers market, the charming streets, and the city’s character added the perfect touch to their baby announcement. It was so special to wander around a bustling city and feeling like we were keeping a secret. Cars honked and congratulated Charles & Halle as we walked around.
